About Smartist

Our founder Lucy was an artist using social media for marketing. Now she's a Social Media Artist, otherwise known as Smartist.


With 8 years experience as a freelance Social Media Manager at organisations large and small, Lucy founded Smartist in 2020. Smartist has now grown to be a team of 3 with well over a decade of experience in social media marketing.


Having started the business with estate agent clients and rapidly taking on trades and construction businesses, Smartist now specialise in social media for the property sector. 


Our USP is our creativity. Creativity with words, images and campaign ideas. We use our artistry and sense of humour to present the most everyday of subjects in an engaging way.


Smartist pride ourselves in genuinely understanding our clients, their pain points and their goals. We work alongside business owners as a trusted member of their team.


We don't just want to do a good job for our clients - we aim to do an exceptional job.

In 2024 we were finalists for Creative Business AND Small Business in the Tunbridge Wells Business Awards and the Best Business Awards (Kent), against stiff competition from bigger agencies.


In 2023 our clients HR Revolution won 'Best Social Media Presence' in industry awards after we had been brought in to boost the creativity of their social media campaigns.  


In 2022, our lettings agent client won Gold in the Marketing Award at their industry awards. They beat 170 competitors and were praised by the judges for  'creative use of all the marketing tools available to them'. Smartist had been handling ALL of their marketing, working closely with the team on social media, blog writing and creating a point of difference to other High Street agents with their online presence.

Who do we work with?

At Smartist we love clients who are as passionate about property as we are. Our team are happy when they're writing about beautiful kitchens and bathrooms,  invited to visit a building site or get creative with photos of a new crane. Whether it's property projects or products for homes, we're inspired. 


We're based in Tunbridge Wells and work exclusively with clients in Kent and Sussex.  We keep our location tight because we want to meet and get to know our clients In Real Life!
